What a Dance Floor!

And now we have a foundation: both footings and a slab. There is nothing left to do but go up. We didn't have much rain between the time we poured the footings and then the slab but there were several "loose ends" that required almost 3 weeks to complete before our latest milestone completed.
Slideshow:  Shall We Dance? As you scroll through the pictures you'll see that some of the walls required waterproofing so that we would avoid the problems we experienced with our original house. An extra drainage trench was created to get the water away from the house and the water and gas lines were retrenched to make them more accessible in case of repair.

Then you'll see a little of the remaining footing work and the intricate web of rebar required for the slab.

Finally, you'll see the freshly poured cement that is the new slab. The framer is there today. He thinks we'll start seeing wood framing starting on Monday. Whoopee!
